AOL Compuserve Setup
You can access America Online and Compuserve by dialing through Internet Texas. To access each service you will need the latest version of the software for each. For America Online you need version 2.5 or later, and for Compuserve you need Compuserve Information Manager v. 1.4 or later.

You must, of course, have an existing account with each service or be willing to establish a new account. By connecting through Internet Texas you will be able to bypass long distance charges and low modem speed restrictions, but you must be a paying customer of each respective company.

To connect through AOL, you need to choose TCP/IP as the NETWORK under the SETUP button.

In CIM, you need to choose WINSOCK as the connector. Then dial in using winsock, launch CIM, and click CONNECT. Then you'll log into Compuserve from over the Internet!

The general procedure is to dial-up Internet Texas the way you normally do for internet BUT instead of starting your web browser you start the AOL or Compuserve software instead.

Download America Online for IBM-compatibles and Mac.

Download Compuserve Information Manager 1.4 for IBM-compatibles.
